What the IVG 2400 4-in-1 actually is

The IVG 2400 4-in-1 is a rechargeable pod device built around a cartridge that holds four separate flavours instead of one. That single design decision is what the whole range exists for. Every other big-puff system on the UK market gives you one flavour per cartridge and expects you to carry a second device if you want a choice; the 2400 puts four profiles in one pod, lets you rotate between them with a twist, and charges you £1.29 for the privilege.

It arrived as IVG's answer to a problem the 2025 single-use ban created. When disposables went off sale on 1 June 2025, a lot of people lost a habit rather than a device: they were used to buying a different flavour every few days and binning the last one. A conventional refillable kit does not replicate that, because you are committed to whatever is in the tank. The 2400 does, at a fraction of the running cost and without throwing a lithium cell away every week.

Mechanically it is a two-part system. The lower half is a slim rechargeable body containing the cell, the airflow sensor and the charging port. The upper half is the cartridge — the part IVG calls a Reload pod — which carries the liquid, the coils and the mouthpiece. When the cartridge is spent you take it off, recycle it and click a new one on. The body keeps going for as long as the cell does, which for most people is many months of daily use.

Where the 2400 sits in the IVG line-up

IVG runs several device platforms at once and they are not variations on a theme — they solve different problems. That positioning explains the pricing. A 2400 cartridge costs a fraction of a 10K pod not because it is a lesser product but because it holds a quarter of the liquid. What you buy with the difference is optionality — the ability to change your mind halfway through a cartridge without wasting the rest of it. For people who churn through flavours, that is worth more than raw longevity, and for people who find one profile and stay there for months it is worth nothing at all. Both positions are reasonable; the 2400 is aimed squarely at the first.

How the four-chamber pod works

A 2400 Reload pod looks like one cartridge and is, functionally, four. Inside the moulded shell are four independently sealed compartments arranged around a central axis. Each one holds 2ml of nicotine salt e-liquid — the maximum a vaping chamber may hold under UK law — and each has its own wick and its own heating element sitting in that liquid.

A selector collar on the pod body rotates. As it turns, it indexes one chamber at a time into alignment with the airflow channel and the electrical contacts on top of the battery body. The chamber that is aligned is the one that fires when you draw. The other three are still physically sealed, still full, and electrically disconnected. That is why there is no cross-contamination: you are not blending flavours in a shared chimney, you are switching between four self-contained vaping systems that happen to share a shell, a mouthpiece opening and a battery.

Why it is built this way and not as one big tank

The four-chamber architecture is not a gimmick, it is a compliance solution. The Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016 cap any nicotine-containing vaping chamber sold in the UK at 2ml. A single cartridge holding 8ml of liquid in one reservoir would be illegal. Four sealed 2ml chambers, each with its own coil and each operating independently, is not — each chamber is its own compliant unit, and only one is ever connected to the device at a time.

What this means for you day to day

Airflow and the draw

The 2400 is a mouth-to-lung device. The airflow path is deliberately narrow, which produces a noticeably tighter draw than a sub-ohm tank, a modest vapour volume and a strong flavour concentration. There is no adjustable airflow ring and no fire button — the device is activated by an airflow sensor that detects the pressure drop when you inhale, so there is nothing to press and nothing to set.

That restricted draw is deliberate and it is worth understanding if you are coming from a larger device. A mouth-to-lung setup is designed to be sipped: you draw the vapour into your mouth first, hold it briefly, then inhale. Trying to pull directly into the lungs the way you would on a sub-ohm tank will feel strangled, will not produce more vapour, and will outrun the wick. If the device seems to be underperforming, the draw technique is the first thing to check, ahead of the battery and well ahead of the pod.

The narrow airflow is also why the 20mg salt liquid is appropriate. Low vapour volume plus high nicotine concentration delivers roughly what a wider device does with a much weaker liquid. The two variables are designed together, which is why swapping one without the other rarely works.

What 2,400 puffs means in practice

Four chambers at roughly 600 puffs apiece is where the number comes from. Those 600-puff figures are laboratory measurements taken with a consistent, gentle draw on a machine, so treat 2,400 as a benchmark for comparing devices rather than a guarantee about your fortnight.

What actually moves the number is draw length and rest time. A two-second puff uses roughly half the liquid of a four-second puff. Chain-vaping — puff, puff, puff with no pause — outruns the wick, which then delivers less liquid per puff and makes the whole thing taste flat, so you compensate by drawing harder and burn through the chamber faster still. Realistic figures from customers land somewhere between 400 and 600 puffs per chamber, which is 1,600 to 2,400 per cartridge.

Put in time terms: a light user finishing one chamber every three or four days gets around a fortnight from a £1.29 cartridge. A moderate user on a chamber every two days gets about a week. Knowing where you are in a cartridge

The 2400 has no screen and no liquid window, so there is no direct readout of how much is left. What you get instead is a taste cue: as a chamber approaches empty, the flavour thins noticeably and the vapour goes wispy before anything turns harsh. That is your signal to rotate to the next chamber. If you push past it you will get a dry, sharp draw, and at that point the wick is scorched and that chamber is done regardless of whether there is a trace of liquid left.

Two habits help. First, rotate in a fixed order — one, two, three, four — so you always know how far through the cartridge you are without thinking about it. Second, when you change chambers, note it. Most people who complain about a cartridge underperforming turn out to have been jumping back and forth between chambers and have simply lost track of how much they have used.

It is also worth saying that a chamber does not spoil once opened. Rotating away from a half-used chamber and coming back to it a week later is completely normal and the liquid will be exactly as you left it, provided the pod has been stored upright somewhere cool.

Which Edition to start with

If you are coming from a single-use device and want something familiar, Blue Edition or Pro Blue is the most familiar landing. If you want cooling rather than fruit, Menthol Edition. Nicotine strength and what is in the liquid

2400 cartridges are filled with 20mg/ml nicotine salt e-liquid. That is the UK legal maximum and it is the strength the format is designed around.

Salt nicotine matters here. It is the same nicotine molecule as freebase, buffered with an acid — usually benzoic — which lowers the pH and makes higher concentrations far smoother to inhale. At 20mg, freebase nicotine would be harsh in a mouth-to-lung device. Salt at 20mg is not, which is why every prefilled pod on the UK market uses it. If you have previously used a 3mg or 6mg bottled liquid in a sub-ohm tank, do not assume a 20mg pod will be overwhelming; the sub-ohm setup vaporises several times more liquid per puff, so total nicotine delivery is closer than the numbers suggest.

The liquid base is a propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine mix weighted toward PG, which is standard for mouth-to-lung pod use: it carries flavour well, wicks quickly through a small coil and produces a modest vapour volume rather than a cloud. If you want lower strengths, they exist elsewhere in the catalogue — bottled salts are sold in 10mg as well as 20mg, and there are nicotine-free options in their own collection.

What is in the liquid, and what is not

The ingredient list on a UK-notified e-liquid is short by law and short in practice: propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine, food-grade flavourings, nicotine and, in salt formulations, the acid used to buffer it. That is the whole composition. Everything sold here is notified to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency before it goes on sale, which requires the manufacturer to submit the full ingredient breakdown, emissions data and toxicological information.

Two ingredients that used to appear in vape liquids are banned in the UK and are not present: diacetyl and its relatives, and vitamin E acetate. Neither is permitted under UK rules and neither appears in any notified product. Colourings, caffeine and taurine are also prohibited in UK e-liquid, which is why nothing in this range is dyed.

Propylene glycol is worth a note because a small number of people are sensitive to it and find it drying. If a PG-heavy pod liquid leaves your throat uncomfortable, that is a recognised reaction to the base rather than the nicotine, and the answer is a higher-VG liquid in a different sort of device rather than a lower nicotine strength.

Battery, charging and power behaviour

The 2400 body carries a compact integrated lithium cell charged over USB-C. It is not sized to run a whole cartridge on one charge and was never meant to — expect to put it on charge every 600 to 800 puffs or so, which in practice means roughly once per chamber.

Charging properly

• Use a standard phone charger or a laptop USB port. A high-wattage fast-charge brick offers no benefit here and only generates heat.
• A flat-to-full charge typically takes under an hour. The indicator light tells you when it is done.
• Do not leave it charging unattended overnight, and never charge it on a bed, a sofa or anything soft.
• Do not charge a device that has been dropped in water or has visibly leaked. Dry it out completely, inspect it, and if in doubt replace it.
• Do not charge or store it in a hot car. Heat is what kills lithium cells and it is also what makes e-liquid taste stale.

Battery life over time

Lithium cells lose capacity with every charge cycle. After several months of daily use you will notice the device wanting charging more often, and eventually it will stop holding a useful charge at all. That is normal wear, not a fault. At £2.99 to £9.95 a kit, replacing the body when it gets there is not a significant cost — and the old one goes to a small electricals recycling point, never in the bin.

Setting up and first use

1. Take the device and cartridge out of the packaging and remove any protective film or plug from the cartridge.
2. Push the cartridge firmly onto the body until it seats. It should feel positive, not loose.
3. Charge the device fully before the first use. Devices ship partly charged for transport safety, and a full charge gives you a proper sense of how the thing performs.
4. Rotate the selector collar to the chamber you want. The markings on the pod tell you which one is live.
5. Leave it standing upright for five minutes before your first puff. This lets the wick fully saturate and is the single best way to avoid an unpleasant first draw.
6. Take a gentle two-second draw. There is no button; the airflow sensor fires the coil automatically.

When you switch chambers for the first time, give the new one the same five-minute stand. Each chamber has its own untouched wick, and an untouched wick needs the same priming as a brand-new pod.

Getting the most from each chamber

A few habits make a measurable difference to both flavour and puff count.

• Short draws beat long ones. Two seconds delivers nearly as much vapour as four and uses roughly half the liquid.
• Pause between puffs. Twenty to thirty seconds lets the wick re-saturate. This is the single biggest factor in whether a chamber tastes good at 500 puffs.
• Store it upright. Lying a pod mouthpiece-down encourages liquid into the chimney and causes gurgling.
• Do not finish a chamber in one sitting. Sustained use heats the coil beyond what the wick can keep up with, and that is what produces a dry, sharp taste.
• Rotate chambers deliberately. Using one flavour constantly dulls your perception of it. Switching for a day usually brings it back.
• Keep the contacts clean. A dry cotton bud on the connection points once a week prevents most intermittent-firing complaints.

Troubleshooting

Nothing happens when I draw

Check the selector is fully indexed onto a chamber rather than between two. This is by far the most common cause and it is unique to multi-chamber pods — if the collar is halfway, no chamber is connected. After that, reseat the cartridge, wipe the contacts on both halves with a dry cloth, and charge for ten minutes in case the cell is flat.

One chamber works and another does not

Rotate fully to the non-working chamber and confirm it has clicked into position. If it is properly indexed and still silent, that chamber has a manufacturing fault. Tell us which Edition and which chamber and we will sort it out; you should not have to accept three working quarters of a cartridge.

The taste is burnt or sharp

The wick is dry. Stand the pod upright for ten minutes and try again gently. If it still tastes burnt, that chamber is finished — rotate to the next one. A properly burnt wick does not recover, so there is nothing to be gained by pushing through it.

It gurgles or spits

Too much liquid has reached the coil, usually from very hard draws or from carrying the device mouthpiece-down. Remove the cartridge, tap it gently mouthpiece-down onto a folded tissue, wipe the contacts and refit.

The flavour has faded but the chamber is not empty

This is usually your palate rather than the pod. Switch chambers for a day and come back to it. It is precisely the problem a four-flavour cartridge is designed to solve.

Vapour is thin even on a full pod

Almost always a low battery. Output falls as voltage drops, so the last stretch of a charge always feels weaker. Charge it fully before concluding anything is wrong.

Coming to the 2400 from a 10K pod system

People move in this direction more often than you would expect, usually for one of two reasons. The first is boredom: 10,000 puffs is a long time to spend with one flavour, and by the back half of a pod plenty of people are simply finishing it out of thrift rather than enjoyment. The second is cost control — £7.95 is a meaningful commitment to a profile you have not tried, whereas £1.29 is not.

What will surprise you is the charging. A 10K device has a larger cell and you get used to charging it every few days; the 2400 will want charging roughly once a chamber, so plan for a cable at your desk or by the bed. What will not surprise you is the flavour, because the liquid formulations run across platforms and a blue raspberry in a 2400 chamber is recognisably the same profile you know from a PRO pod.

Returns

Sealed, unopened items can be returned within the statutory period. Opened cartridges and used devices cannot be returned for hygiene and safety reasons unless faulty. Storage, recycling and the legal position

Storage

Keep cartridges upright, sealed, out of direct sunlight, somewhere cool and dry. Heat darkens and thickens e-liquid and strips out the top notes, which is why a pod that has spent a week on a sunny windowsill never tastes right. Cold is less damaging but a cold pod wicks slowly, so let one reach room temperature before use. Keep everything well away from children and pets — nicotine liquid is harmful if swallowed.

Recycling and WEEE

Devices and spent cartridges contain lithium cells and electronic components and must never go in household waste or kerbside recycling, where they start fires in collection vehicles and sorting plants. Use your council's household waste recycling centre small electricals or battery stream, or an in-store collection point at a supermarket or larger retailer. Under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations, UK retailers selling electricals must provide a take-back route; we meet our WEEE obligations and will point you to the nearest option if you ask. Never puncture, crush or incinerate a device or cartridge.

UK law

The 2400 range complies with the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016: each chamber holds no more than 2ml, the liquid is no stronger than 20mg/ml, the packaging is child-resistant and tamper-evident with the required warnings and leaflet, and the products are notified to the MHRA before sale. It is also compliant with the single-use vape ban in force since 1 June 2025, because the body is rechargeable and the cartridge is replaceable.

How does the IVG 2400 4-in-1 actually work?

Each Reload cartridge contains four separately sealed 2ml compartments, and each compartment has its own wick and heating element. A collar on the pod rotates to index one compartment at a time into line with the airflow channel and the battery contacts. Only the aligned chamber fires; the other three stay sealed and disconnected, which is why the flavours never mix.

Does a 2400 kit come with a pod included?

Yes. Every kit contains the rechargeable body, one four-flavour Reload cartridge already fitted, and a USB-C charging cable. You can use it straight out of the box, though we recommend charging it fully and letting it stand upright for five minutes first so the wick saturates properly. After that first purchase you only need to buy cartridges.

How long does one cartridge last?

The headline figure is around 2,400 puffs, which is four chambers at roughly 600 each. That is a laboratory measurement with a gentle, consistent draw. Real-world figures are usually 400 to 600 per chamber depending on how long and how hard you pull. In time terms, most moderate users get about a week from a cartridge and lighter users closer to a fortnight.

What does an 'Edition' name mean?

An Edition is a flavour family, not a single flavour. Cherry Edition is a cartridge whose four chambers all sit in the cherry family — some sweeter, some sharper, some iced. The product page lists the exact four. If you want one flavour across all four chambers instead, buy an X2 two-pack, which comes in single profiles like Classic Menthol or Pro Blue.

Is the 2400 legal in the UK given the 2ml limit?

Yes. The Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016 cap any single vaping chamber at 2ml, and each of the four chambers in a 2400 cartridge holds exactly that and no more. Each is its own sealed unit with its own coil, and only one is connected to the device at a time. The nicotine is 20mg/ml, which is the UK maximum.

How often will I need to charge it?

Roughly once per chamber, so about four charges across a full cartridge. The body carries a compact cell charged over USB-C and a flat-to-full charge normally takes under an hour. Use a standard phone charger rather than a high-wattage fast-charge brick, and do not leave it charging unattended overnight or on soft furnishings.

Nothing happens when I draw — what is wrong?

First check the selector collar is fully indexed onto a chamber rather than sitting between two positions. That is the most common cause and it is specific to multi-chamber pods. If it is properly aligned, reseat the cartridge, wipe the contacts on both halves with a dry cloth or cotton bud, and put the device on charge for ten minutes.

Can I refill a 2400 cartridge myself?

No. The chambers are sealed at manufacture and are not designed to be opened, refilled or decanted. Attempting it will damage the wicking, can flood the coil and voids any warranty. Replacement cartridges are £1.29 for a four-flavour Edition or £0.49 for a single-flavour two-pack, so there is no real cost argument for trying.

What nicotine strength are the pods?

All 2400 Reload cartridges are 20mg/ml nicotine salt, which is the UK legal maximum. Salt nicotine is the same molecule as freebase but buffered with an acid so higher strengths inhale smoothly in a mouth-to-lung device. If you want lower strengths, bottled salts are available at 10mg and there are nicotine-free options elsewhere in the catalogue.

Should I buy the £2.99 kits or the £9.95 ones?

The hardware is identical. The £2.99 tier is clearance pricing on Editions being rotated out, so you are choosing a flavour family rather than a lesser device. If one of the clearance Editions appeals — Pro Blue, Menthol, Exotic, Pineapple, Watermelon, Pink, Yellow or Red Raspberry — it is the better buy by a wide margin.
